Apple just announced the greatest quarter a company has ever had with profits of $18B, which lead me into a conversation with a friend that went something like this:
Friend: "But 2/3 of its profit came from iPhone, that is problematic"
Me: "What about 95% of Google's profit came from advertising?"
Friend: "That's their business"
Yes, it's true that Apple should had a plan to get more streams of profit, however Apple will always be at the point of failure to some. You can't have double standards, selling iPhones is also Apple's business.
Mark my words, next quarter if Apple's profit will "only" be $17B, we are all going to hear "Apple is doomed".
